6.7 Powerstroke EGR Delete Problems
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation or EGR has been placed inside a vehicle for many reasons. Mostly for the benefits of the vehicle. It does its job by eliminating nitrous oxide coming out of the tailpipe. The EGR takes the exhaust gas into the intake through the EGR valve, which leads to lower combustion temperature.
Deleting the EGR from your vehicle can cause damage in the long run. It will terminate your vehicle’s warranty, and it can raise the EGT temperature, resulting in less engine power and strength. Not only that, the EGR helps to keep the emission in check and controls carbon emission and nitrogen entering into the environment.

What does EGR delete do for 6.7 Powerstroke?
EGR delete will slow the carbon buildup on the EGR valve by stopping carbon from flowing to the EGR cooler and getting onto the valve. For some vehicles, the EGR delete can increase mileage up to 30 to 50 percent and can also increase power by 5 to 10 percent. EGR delete can aid in increasing engine life, and since there is no carbon buildup in the EGR valve, there is no need to change or clean it regularly.
6.7 Powerstroke EGR delete problems
An EGR delete can cause you more harm than good. Needless to say, an EGR delete will make your vehicle street illegal, unless off-road use only, and because it is so difficult to do and can only be done by a motor specialist, it can get very expensive to do so.
An EGR is put by the company to omit NOx emissions from the engine, deleting that will cause the engine to produce and discharge more harmful pollutants to enter into the environment.
Deleting your DPF is the trend nowadays. But like some benefits, it has some problems too. We are also mentioning the problems so that you can have a clear vision of your next move.
1.The DPF does not Restrict Your Horsepower Let’s not believe in hearsay and rumors and take a look at the facts. When you get your vehicle to repair, they repair it meticulously because if they are not perfect at their job, you won’t go there next time.
And they can also tune your vehicle while keeping your DPF intact like a piece of cake. So, from now on, you can stop worrying about your vehicle’s horsepower.
2.Legal Restrictions You must have heard some of your friends or family had been fined for lack of emissions equipment. The laws are pretty much effective even in rural areas. So, you must reconsider if you want to go for the deletion.
Because, if you do, you will always have to be ready to give a good amount of money to the law enforcers. Thus, keeping your vehicle intact can also save you some money, can’t it?
3.Resale Value The biggest problem you will face after the deletion whenever you want to sell your truck. You will not be able to sell it to a dealer.
You may end up selling it to other third parties for a decent price, but that would be a very rare case nowadays. Because nobody wants to take the risk of being fined while purchasing a second-hand truck. So, it’s better to keep your emission equipment intact.
6.7 Powerstroke DPF Delete Problems
A DPF or Diesel Particulate Filter is an extremely fine filter screen that catches the soot and exhaust smoke that comes out of the engine. It filters all the soot particles and filters them down to one micron.
This DPF filter can sometimes get congested, causing pressure to the engine. If this occurs, the DPF has to be changed or replaced. But in some cases, people also like to delete the DPF altogether.
The deletion of DPF can cause prolonged and even irreplaceable problems to the engine. Most importantly, deleting the DPF is illegal; once you have done it, your vehicle will no longer be roadworthy. It will make any warranty invalid, and it will never be possible to resell your vehicle.
- It may reduce overall horsepower
In the past years, it was possible to get your engine working a lot smoother after removing the EGR. Because of the design issues of the previous generation products, you could bypass the system to make more space for the combustion chamber.
But modern generation products won’t give you the chance to take advantage as they are specially made to rock your engine even when you have the EGR valve in your vehicle. So, deleting it will affect your overall horsepower for sure.
2. You are going to fail your state’s emission tests Using the EGR Delete kit will fail you in the State’s Emission Test. It’s like taking a test without your key test components. And in that case, your failure is as sure as the sunrise. You may also face a fine of more than $10,000 as it is a federal crime in the United States.
3. Deleting cost is too high Why did you consider deleting your EGR valve in the first place? To reduce your cost and save money. But you should also keep it in your mind that deleting the EGR isn’t cheap either.
You will have to pay about $200 for an EGR Delete Kit which is pretty much the same or even higher (if you choose to pay someone to do the installation) of a new replacement. At this point, you must think twice while deciding.
6.7 Powerstroke DPF Delete Benefits
DPF delete will increase fuel efficiency, and it will help increase the power of the engine and torque. For some engines, it can increase engine longevity. The engine will have a considerable boost in horsepower, and no soot congestion will save time and money to keep it regularly on inspection and no need to change it.

There will be no warranty if caused any damage, and you are going to have a check engine light, and a soft code will be thrown for EGR circuit low.
6.7 Powerstroke EGR delete or unplug process
You can do an EGR delete by blocking the EGR pipe using a blocking plate. A blocking plate will restrict the exhaust gas from entering the intake manifold. You can also disconnect the EGR sensor, which activates the valve opening or closing.
Another way is to delete the EGR completely, and this can prove to be the most advantageous as there will be no system left to send the exhaust gases into the I take manifold, but this can cost you a lot more than the other options.

FAQ
What is the benefit of EGR delete?
The focus on EGR delete is mainly to give the vehicle a boost in mileage, power, engine life, torque and to stop carbon buildup in the valve. The EGR or Exhaust Gas Recirculation is in the vehicle to reduce NOx emissions. It cancels out the pollutants before entering into the environment, as a result, it gathers a lot of soot into the engine and clogs the system. Deleting that will give an increase in overall engine power.
Do you have to do an EGR delete with a DPF Delete?
If you decide to keep the DPF it will continue to clog the filter and cause pressure in the engine which will result in a less efficient engine. So if you have decided to delete your EGR, you might as well delete your DPF. With the EGR removed your engine will have less buildup of carbon in the EGR valve and an increase in horsepower and torque.
What is the best delete kit for 6.7 Powerstroke?
